My initial consultations were with Mr Mark Davies, I looked at his CV which was very impressive. My care under Mr Davies was excellent, he was patient, professional and a 1st class communicator.
Mr Mark Davies referred me to his colleague Mr James Davis as I would need both a fusion and subsequent ankle replacement. With both consultants, surgery was the last option, at all times and I felt totally at ease that I was in the best possible hands.
I could tell that Mr Davies gave my condition considerable thought and, between himself and Mr Davis, came up with the solution of a subtalor fusion followed by an ankle replacement which has worked perfectly.
As with Mr Davies, Mr Davis was also very impressive, taking time to explain my options and thoroughly explaining the risks involved.
(I did go for a 2nd opinion to an alternative surgeon (due to pressure from my family) the experience could not have been more different, “Mr Davies and Mr Davis are the gold standard”).
In less than 5 months post ankle replacement operation by Mr Davis, I have my life back with the freedom and confidence to travel, which were severely restricted pre operation.
I can’t praise the whole team enough. The care I have received, and the support has been second to none, and this also extends to all the staff at the hospital during my initial operation.
The bottom line is without the two Consultant’s diligence and care, my mobility would not be nearly as good as I am currently enjoying, and for that I will always be grateful.
