Biography

Mr. Rudge qualified from St. George’s Hospital Medical School in 1999. He spent a year working in Perth, Western Australia before returning to a basic surgical training in London. He then undertook his specialist orthopaedic training on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital rotation and also underwent a UK advanced training fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery. He subsequently gained further experience in the management of complex lower limb trauma at the Royal London Hospital.

Mr. Rudge’s main surgical interest is in the treatment of all aspects of foot and ankle pathology. He offers a full range of surgical treatments for conditions such as Hallux Valgus (bunions) / Hallux Rigidus (arthritis) and lesser toe deformities. He also treats degenerative foot and ankle conditions including arthritis of the midfoot and hindfoot alongside degenerative tendon conditions such as Tibialis Posterior tendinopathy.

He offers various treatments for sports injuries including lateral ligament reconstruction and ankle arthroscopy. He also works alongside orthotists and physiotherapists to offer a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of foot and ankle conditions.

Mr Rudge ensures that he takes the time to explain things clearly and logically, enabling patients to make informed decisions about their treatment.

Mr Rudge has been acting as an Expert Witness since being appointed as a Consultant in 2012 during which time he has prepared in excess of 1500 medicolegal reports. The majority of these (in the earlier stages of his career as an expert witness) have been in low value Personal Injury cases predominantly instructed by the Claimant. His current medicolegal practice deals exclusively with foot and ankle issues including more complex injuries and higher value claims including Negligence claims, with an equal split between Claimant and Defendant Instructions.
